This was our second visit to the hotel, we were really looking forward to our holiday. Unfortunately not everything was as good as the previous time. For our late arrival, food had been plated for us in the dining room, although identified as vegetarian, both of the plates had items of meat mixed in. One of the male members staff in the restaurant was so rude, very abrupt, no good morning or evening. Snatched plates away from the table. Banged crockery and cutlery down when refilling the shelves for guests. Everything seemed an effort. Made us feel very uncomfortable which made for a stressful dining experience, whenever we could we sat away from him. The bar and restaurant staff seemed understaffed a lot of the time. The furniture in our room was well worn which is very surprising to say the hotel was only reopened two years ago. Cabinets scuffed, laminate edgings peeling away, tiled flooring in room and corridors lifting in most places. Hotel advertises on literature as being no smoking throughout, and yet there were ashtrays on the balconies so people were regularly smoking on balconies and smoke drifting into our room. This was obviously unpleasant and we often retreated from our balcony and closed the windows. Other aspects of the holiday were still really good, the decor in the public areas, pool area and gardens and we like where the hotel is situated. The bar and restaurant staff (apart from the male member of staff mentioned above) were very friendly and hardworking.
