    Recommended

    Returned from hotel with ear infections- from swimming pool water, no water chemical testing observed during the day to check levels. Pool had many tiles missing and algae/ black mould growing in these gaps! Water levels in parts of the pool the tiles were not cleaned and tiles looked dirty from sun creams etc!

    Hotel & grounds beautiful, hotel in need of attention in certain areas, room very tired looking, no do not disturb signs & twice woken in morning by cleaning staff, my partner was just getting out the shower one morning & they had let themselves in as she obviously didn’t hear the door, the cleaning of the room was totally unacceptable, a previous guest had left a plug in bug spray, my partner made a cup of tea on the first morning & didn’t like the powdered milk so left it next to the kettle, after the first day we said let’s see how long it takes them to notice it, it was still there the morning we left, we continually had to ask for toilet paper & instead of changing the holder they just left it in the bathroom still in the wrapper. The biggest problem I had was with my debit card which would only occasionally work in the hotel but worked in every beach shack we went to & every shop we went into, I kept telling them I needed to put my PIN number in after every so many transactions but they ignored me & without my knowledge tried my card SIX times thus blocking it, I had to call my bank the next day who told me it was undoubtedly the hotel’s fault, they then managed to block it again by not getting the option for me to enter the PIN number, nobody was interested in helping not even a manager, very very disappointing

    There was no welcome drink on arrival for 5* this is poor. The room is a nice size but for 2 people there is not enough storage/ wardrobe space. the room was not as clean as it might have been. On arrival the door did not close properly, this was sorted, the paving round the pool area was uneven and tired. The pool it self is in a very poor state and needs a lot of repairs to get in back to a resalable standard. Then one day a fire to clear rubbish was lit in the grounds and the smoke came right across the pool area clearing it of everyone around the pool area.

    Accommodation was very clean and the service good. The hotel drinks and meals were very expensive in comparison with outside. However all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely return.
