    The hotel was as advertised - for the most part clean and tidy with just a few signs of wear and tear in the rooms. Plenty of food and drink options available and for the most part the staff were lovely. My only cause for complaint was we had already put on the booking this was our honeymoon and a birthday trip, was then asked again on check in, but only got a honeymoon banner on the door to commemorate. There was no card, no bottle of wine, selection of chocolates even to try and make it special. Then when my birthday came around there was no acknowledgement whatsoever which was upsetting. I happened to be asked via the hotel app how my trip was going 3 nights before we left and I was honest - this was a very special trip, was not exactly cheap and we wouldn’t ever get our honeymoon again, I felt invisible to the hotel when I had seen so many others getting some sort of acknowledgement which was way more than just a banner on the door. I was impressed when I got a call from management the following day to apologise as they should’ve given us a card and welcome gift on arrival - they then offered us a free upgrade to a private pool room which did make the last 2 nights of our honeymoon actually feel like our honeymoon.
