    From the moment we arrived at this gem of a hotel, we knew we were in a very special place. Stunning location, vibrant cool design, with attentive and welcoming staff. The strong ecological ethos of Salt of Palmar is inspiring with the a la carte only menu choices reducing food waste and the love, care and attention to detail obvious with every delicious dish served. Special thanks to Chef Shiva, JiJi and all of the chefs and kitchen staff. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Herb Garden and the use of food waste to create new plants and therefore food from Chef Shiva. Thanks also to the excellent bar staff who excel in preparing wonderful cocktails and drinks - Fayaaz and Kish especially. And we were served with care by Pravesh, Bhool and so many other attentive staff. The spa massage was excellent and male therapist Jibraan was very professional and caring.The boat house staff were excellent and looked after us well for the complimentary trips in the glass bottom boat for snorkelling. All in all, an excellent hotel, we learned so much, and a wonderful holiday exploring the fascinating and beautiful island of Mauritius. We would not hesitate to return!

    Anyone who stays at this hotel won't be disappointed if you like a smaller hotel with great food, a relaxing atmosphere and fantastic staff who work so hard to make your stay perfect. As for the Tui rep we saw him only once and failed to let us know the catamaran trip booked earlier in our stay had been cancelled due to bad weather so we were up very early and waited an hour before having to ask the hotel for the rep's number to find out what was happening!
