    Restaurant choices were affected by the ongoing renovations. Staffing caused certain restaurants to be closed on an evening rendering that choice unavailable. This unavailability cycled through the choices during the week. The Japanese style restaurant had to be booked at 16:45 and could only be used once. It was closed 3 days out of the 8 we stayed. We never got to go to that. Staff were fantastic when tipped. Great when engaged and slightly dismissive when challenged. Having to stop at the entrance to the restaurant and give your room number seemed odd too. Despite this scathing review we did enjoy the rest. Food was good and we didn’t suffer any tummy problems.

    See my initial comment plus the good was awful, not properly cooked and poor quality meat etc. staff were unfriendly, management were nowhere to be seen, it needs huge investment into it as it’s rundown, they had a man with a dog trying to kill the coatis while we are there - he was running round the pool with his dog on a long lead chasing a coatis into the restaurant area with the dog barking, jumping and snapping at anything around it. He then chased the coatis into the main accommodation area and filmed it while trying to shake it out a tree for the dog to get. It was barbaric and extremely upsetting to watch. Then we were informed by a senior staff member that the coatis have rabies which was why they were using the dog, if this is true the hotel should be shut down as no guests should be staying there. The dog was in the sun all day. One day it had a coatis up a tree by the pool for 6 hours barking at it. What good does that do? What is the point in that? The man with the dog is employed by the hotel. I complained and said I was not prepared to watch that ever again. That would be illegal in the UK and is simply animal cruelty. I am disgusted by the attitude in this hotel
