    Our 2nd time at Mitsis Selection Laguna. The biggest issue for us is that you cannot escape the smoke. As non smokers we found the total lack of provision of designated no smoking areas to be totally unacceptable. For this reason we would not recommend the hotel to friends. That said, the accommodation generally is excellent outside and inside. Food choice in main restaurant is very good and the speciality restaurants offer a more sophisticated dining experience, we went to them all. The champagne and sushi bar was a nice touch. Quality of evening entertainment was poor on most evenings. Staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. In short the hotel is not 5 star in my opinion but I guess that depends on who and how it is rated.

    Feedback has been shared with Mitsis directly too. Hotel reception areas were very good, restaurant areas were good and clean and pool areas were good and generally clean. The room was significantly below the standard expected of an ‘ultra all inclusive, 5 star quality hotel’. The bathroom was a particular low point with dirty grout, mouldy sealant around the sink and the back of the sink where the water flows away. The bath had chips, the toilet was heavily scratched in the bowl with a couple of dark marks in the bottom that wouldn’t clean away. The ‘terrace’ was very low down and blocked any views with foliage. Overall, the room was very depressing and really spoilt the holiday for us. The food in the main restaurant was generally cold or lukewarm, particularly later in the service. The à la carte restaurants were much nicer but the cold / lukewarm food was a feature in the Cretan restaurant again meaning we cancelled our 2nd planned visit. The holiday was well below our expectations and not represented by the glossy photos.
