    Recommended

    Beautiful hotel. Very clean everywhere. Requests of ironing board and iron, also kettle etc for tea met very quickly. The staff were very good and pleasant. The reception staff spoke good English. The only person I had a problem with was the maitre d’at breakfast. He did not recognise we were new guest or explain the procedure at breakfast. Not that he could as his English was almost non existent. One morning I was going to sit at a table and he rudely waved me away as it must have been reserved. I did not appreciate his manner. The buggies that we had to ride up to the spa would not have passed health and safety requirements in the UK. It was a very precarious ride up to the spa with no seat belts. We were required to sit on the back seats which faced backwards so going up and down the steep and narrow road was not pleasant. In the end we asked to sit next to the driver which was a little better. We will not miss that journey at all.

    Hotel rooms have not been updated, shower trays need replacing. Lighting isn’t great, you never know what light will come on and some are on timers, not great if turned on in middle of night as takes ages to go off again. Broken and unfixed tiles on balcony.

    Hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spotless and there was a good choice of food in the restaurant. We would not hesitate to recommend The Miramare and would certainly love to return
