Show moreGreeting on arrival was poor (and that’s being kind), no one at reception desk, had to go find someone, receptionist appeared from kitchen area seemingly a little put out. We followed her back to reception, no “welcome” or anything else, not even a smile. Then straight to having to pay €20 for local taxes. We were then taken to our room, on the way I accidentally walked into a stairway wall, which hurt (although I didn’t show it) causing quite a bruise, there was no are you alright, just a smirk & laugh from our host. The room was very clean and spacious and we were pleased with it. We were told that the bedding & towels would be changed every 3 days, I which we were happy with. The reality was that, they weren’t changed until we requested a change after a week directly to the room cleaning staff. Breakfast was a self service Buffett style with bacon, eggs & either scrambled or omelette each day with fruit, ham & cheeses and toast available ! The orange juice was orange squash ( heavily watered down ) and some days was undrinkable it was watered down so much, there was also a machine dispensing coffee/tea etc. the cooked breakfast items we re very hit & miss as far as quality was concerned, cold bacon, eggs under done, omelette sections were poor. That said, the staff died their best to keep everyone happy and were helpful ( if lacking smiles on occasions ), although the girl with the long blonde hair (didn’t get her name, who’s child had just started to school had a lovely welcoming smile EVERY DAY and was supper helpful. The position of the hotel, the room and hotel itself was excellent, a real gem of a place, just isn’t run correctly, quite sad as it could be the most sort after hotel in the area I’m sure.
Show moreRoom was lovely and large with a comfy bed. We had no cups or mugs, one glass and two teaspoon, a nespresso machine but no capsuals,. The bathroom was not cleaned all the time we were there and it wasn’t the best cleanliness.
Show moreLack of staff as Hotel has changed hands. Shop closed for the whole week. Towels changed only once and that was because after four days we asked. We went searching for loo rolls as cleaning young man did not replace when servicing room. Lack of cutlery/crockery supplied. Lack of storage room - 2 open hanging rails with 6 coat hangers. No dressing table or mirror in bedroom. Comfortable 6' bed. Having stayed in this hotel for over 20 years the lack of management on site is a problem. Sadly lost it's family run feel. We really didn't feel particularly welcome altho the restaurant staff were pleasant. No TUI rep either at hotel or visible at airport. No information in hotel re where to call in emergencym. The Hotel itself rarely answers the phone. Fabulous location so please Marina Bay get your act together!
