Overall it was a fantastic location, excellent service from staff and the public facing areas (the pool, sun loungers, bar, restaurant etc) were excellent. However, it was quite pricey in terms of the overall standard of accommodation in terms of room and facilities.

Show moreThis is my Tripadvisor review - Sadly, this hotel lived up to many of the negative reviews we had read before arriving. We arrived late at night and, as we were staying half board, the hotel told us they had prepared some food for us, which we initially thought was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, when we went downstairs, it was uncovered raw salmon that appeared to have been left out for some time. We weren’t comfortable eating it, so we decided not to. If you’re arriving late, I’d recommend picking up food at the airport beforehand, as there are no nearby shops. There are a couple of restaurants on the beach below the hotel where you can buy drinks and snacks. The hotel itself is very dated and in need of significant refurbishment. In our opinion, it doesn’t feel like a 4-star hotel—more like a 2-star. The rooms we were allocated were not the rooms we had booked. We were told this was an issue with our travel agent, and that because we had booked through TUI, the hotel couldn’t do anything to help. The reception staff were friendly throughout and did what they could, but unfortunately there was little they were able to change. The prices at the pool bar were extremely expensive: €7 for a can of Coke, €9 for an orange juice, and €15 for a pint. These are prices you’d expect at a luxury 5-star resort, not here. Guests are also not allowed to bring their own food, ice lollies, or even bottled water into the pool area—you can only consume drinks purchased from the bar. If you do want soft drinks, it’s actually cheaper to buy them from your room’s minibar, where a Coke costs €5. We were out during the evenings several times and asked if our half-board meals could be swapped to lunch instead. The restaurant manager was incredibly accommodating and arranged this for us on three occasions, which we really appreciated. The restaurant staff were all friendly and helpful. While some of the buffet food did sit uncovered for quite a while, the freshly cooked dishes at dinner were delicious and were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. If you don’t use the hotel’s shuttle bus, be prepared for expensive taxi fares. A taxi into Sorrento costs around €48 each way. As we were a group of six, we paid between €60 and €75 for return journeys. The last hotel shuttle leaves at 10:40pm, which may not suit everyone’s plans. One recommendation is Tiko Tiko, a restaurant about a five-minute walk along the beach. Another guest recommended it to us, and we ended up eating there twice. The food was excellent and much better value than many other places. Overall, it’s disappointing because this hotel has so much potential thanks to its beautiful location. However, in its current condition, it falls well short of the standard expected of a 4-star hotel. It’s also very secluded, with very little within walking distance. If you have the option to change to another hotel, I personally would. I also would just like to say we rang up after reading trip advisor as was assured it was all ok. And not to worry. I feel like we have truly been sold a holiday on false information. Nothing about this hotel is ok. And for your company it paints a terrible view of yous.
