    Recommended

    Excellent overall from the hotel / staff / food all outstanding However not overly kid / teen friendly. Our daughter of 11yo had very few kids of her own age to socialize with , we know this was probably due to school term times but definitely lack of activity’s due to little to no kids at the hotel We did ask and were told there’s not enough kids here to run anything, sometimes not even the evening disco.

    The accommodation was very picturesque and clean, with really good choice of food and drink options. I found service from staff fluctuated massively, particularly with large queues at the bars and staff taking table service orders and forgetting them completely, or getting them wrong. Many staff seemed to struggle with English and so getting your order correct was a challenge, even when pointing to items on the QR code menus provided they seemed unsure and sometimes brought a completely different drink to you. On more than one occasion a staff member at the pool bar just disappeared and never actually brought me my drinks order. The steakhouse experience was also very limited, having stayed at other RIU resorts I found this experience to be particularly limited and poor, for example there is no beef option, at a steakhouse.

    Been to several Riu hotels and thought this one wasn’t as good as the others in terms of food choice, temperature of food, drink consistency, as bar persons gave you totally different drinks consistency each time for the same drink , not knowledgeable at all, food had no flavour but looked great and that’s quite an achievement to do in my eyes, felt a bit unsafe in elevators as rickety to say the least , had dressing room to change last day , showers not great and hairdryers never worked for my wife and reception couldn’t provide a replacement at all and my wife had to go into the reception toilets and use her own dryer as the dressing rooms never even had a power outlet! , pool was large enough however there was no easy way to enter it apart from communal style ladders to descend into the pool despite there being plenty opportunity spots to manufacture steps into the pool due to layout, couple of times they ran out of a spirit at the pool bars which I found strange for an all inclusive, despite booking a pool view room and requesting a high floor they gave as a room facing the opposite side and on the 2nd floor of 4 , which we complained about straight away (understand high floor was a request ) but pool view was what we paid for , turned out there wasn’t a room available that fitted our booking so we had to wait until next morning to have a look at another room with pool view then wait until this was cleaned which we then received approx 13.30 the next day after arriving this then allowed us to unpack properly and settle down. Staff were efficient in the room change as issue wouldn’t have been under their control but they handled it well arranging for our bags to be transferred to new room once we had packed everything away but situation overall wasn’t ideal. Not the best experience from a Riu hotel with the palace tag as previously we have had better experiences.
