Very friendly, great food.Very helpful

The hotel is like a museum of antiques and artefacts set in an absolutely splendid tropical garden. The staff go above and beyond to assist. They really do make this a great place to stay. The restaurant offers excellent food and great service. It does, however, have a fixed menu and although I ate well everyday, I would not recommend it to fussy British eaters, people who don’t like fish or vegetarians. The pool and spa area are perfect for relaxation and most days there were very few people there. The sun beds were good quality with stretch towelling covers and pool towels are supplied. The room was spacious and comfortable with regular towel and bedding changes and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The hotel is in the middle of a banana plantation and it requires a walk up a steep cobbled hill to the pretty little town and a hot walk with some hairy steps to the black beach - nice if you can make it but not good for the less mobile. Breakfast is lovely and taken outside in a pleasant little courtyard. The selection is good - and there are fresh items to order. All in all a beautiful place for a relaxing holiday. Not good for party animals (no bar) and very quiet but perfect for rest or romance

Hotel was fantastic - everything that was promised and more

Service was excellent as was the included breakfast. The decor was as described and the pool and gardens also. However, being old, the bed was very squeaky and so high that steps were provided to get onto it. The sheet was really too small so kept coming untucked. There were no tea-making facilities (luckily we took our own travel kettle), no iron, we had to ask for the mini-fridge to be changed as it wasn't working, the bath plug mechanism was broken too, no working makeup mirror, and the room had very little natural light getting in so was very dark- not good in January when you need all the light you can get. Although there were small seating areas dotted around the hotel, there was no larger seating/bar area to sit when you wanted to relax out of your room, and nowhere with daylight or a view. The bar only opened for two hours early evening in the breakfast area (no armchairs or sofas). The only place to sit in the sun was by the pool or outside some rooms (not ours). Maybe ok during the hot summer but less good when you are after winter sun. The restaurant was beautiful with excellent food. But the menu was limited and rarely changed so we only ate dinner there once. Overall we expected more facilities for a 4 star hotel. Great location, quiet atmosphere and very efficient and friendly service though.

Mooi ruime en schone kamers. Uitstekende service van personeel op alle fronten. Zeer goede ontbijt variëteit. Mooie aangelegde tuin met verwarmd zwembad. Heel exclusief restaurant, waar je goed kan dineren en het eten met zorg wordt bereid en opgediend. Leuke wellness faciliteit nabij het zwembad.
