I have stayed at El Duque before this is now my fourth time. I pay quite a hefty price to visit this hotel and it is not a four star experience in anyway for me and seems to have gone a bit downhill. I will make it clear here the staff are great that has not changed but the accommodation itself i have feedback on. Point 1) You cannot book late checkout in advance which I find poor experience. I had to wait until day i was leaving to be told \"No\" my flight back home was at 1.10am this was very unfair in my opinion and would put me off booking again with them in future. Point 2) The sunbed situation is a joke they just don't police it at all. Why they cant have a booking system i have no idea other hotels do. Point 3) The food has gone down hill for me, I have been four times and i was stuck was mostly pasta every night as what was on offer was not to my tastes at all which is pretty simple being english! Point 4) During our stay the hotel decided to re-paint the concrete floor near the main pool. They had no signs to this affect at all or warning. This closed the pool off when it was supposed to be open over a few days and also stained bottom of my sandals. Point 5) I asked for my room to be cleaned every other day when we were there. No once did they mop the floor. At all. I give them credit the toliet was cleaned the beds changed etc but they didn't mop floor this was poor for me. Point 6) The bathroom door stuck i had to kick it open and shut so for me no inspection was done on this room or would have been fixed - unless they consider this okay? I don't Point 7) The bathroom light was stuck on all time no switch turned it off - not energy saving and annoying on a night time Point 8) The beds are awful and no comfortable i have been here before and it has never been this bad before Point 9) They have no aircon which am aware of but the fan - yes 1 fan - was not goo enough it was pathetic which didn't aid sleep at all. The plug sockets meant it couldn't even really be over both me and my husband either. Point 10) The fridge looked old and moved around when i tried open the door Point 11) The whole place seem to have just been poorly fixed. Bathroom handle to get out of bath was wobbly out of wall but had brand new sealant round it to hide it was broken. The ceiling fan was dangerous it had electrical wires exposed and looked like it would fly off the ceiling if we used it. There was dents in walls that had been painted over not filled and fixed. Point 12) The entertainment has not changed in four years. Same acts on after the mini disco which is mind numbing as they never change that either. I was mostly bored and often went back to room early as there is no other bar for me to sit at which i felt lost me out on money i spent on all inclusive. I will say this there is a guy there i don't know his name young, dark hair he said he was a local and was there when i last came 2 years ago then he was new to entertainment team. He is great with everyone and kids. He give it everything with energy and commitment. He knew all dance routines and mostly handled everything until about Friday of our holiday alone when more seemed to turn up. Who I point out didn't know any of dance routines and looked poor for me. But he did a great job. All in all I don't think I will stay there again. I have already booked a holiday for next year to Princess Inspire to see if this is what i wish from a holiday and wasn't much price difference for a 5 star hotel with a upgrade to their platinum package. The El Duque for me is a 2-3 star hotel and should be charging prices for this that are fair unless they are prepared to: * Take better care of their rooms and fix them properly. * When they clean a room they do so from top to bottom * Police sun beds and offer a better solution - booking system * Offer a late check out service when booking a holiday before flying * Aircon or better fan system * Up their game with food * Change up entertainment more for repeat customers this become repetitive and I am sure they want repeat customers?????

Weve stayed at the hotel el duque costa adeje 3 times previously and have had a fantastic stay everytime. This time i asked a few months before if we could have our favourite room and pay extra for it because it was our 1st wedding anniversary and we just loved this particular room the hotel said they couldnt be sure that the room wasnt already booked. Anyway upon arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to the room free of charge and when we got in our room there was a bottle of champagne which was a fantastic suprize. We wouldnt stay at any other hotel now after trying a few previously the hotel el duque ticks every box its spotlessly clean the staff are fantastic its in a perfect location the food is beautiful and there is always plenty of choice the pool is fantastic and it always feels safe at nightime
