    Check in was great. Had champagne and sweets with hot towels to freshen up. Was offered an upgrade but there was no hard sell. The staff were always friendly and helpful no matter which part of the hotel or staff you spoke with. Our room was lovely, with great views, was very spacious and we had lovely tea and coffee facilities which were topped up daily if they were used. The hotel was spotless and definitely a five star experience.

    We booked H10 Rubicón Horizons Collection Lanzarote through TUI for five families, expecting the five-star experience that was advertised. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. From the moment we arrived, there was no assistance with luggage, so we had to carry all of our bags to our rooms ourselves. We also found dirty pillowcases in our room, which had to be replaced. The hotel advertises five restaurants, yet only one was available without a reservation. The remaining restaurants were supposedly fully booked for our entire seven-day stay, despite appearing to be largely empty on most evenings. This resulted in long queues and overcrowding in the main buffet restaurant. Our group included three all-inclusive bookings and two half-board bookings. We always followed the hotel's rules and scanned our wristbands for every order, yet staff constantly monitored who was eating and drinking what, making us feel uncomfortable and as though we were under suspicion. Communication with many staff members was difficult due to language barriers, leading to repeated requests and incorrect orders. One of the hotel's two lifts was out of service throughout our stay, and the pool bar and towel service regularly closed around an hour earlier than the advertised times. We reported these issues to the TUI representative at the hotel during our stay and asked him to raise a formal complaint on our behalf. We also met with the hotel manager, but after spending several hours discussing our concerns until almost midnight, no satisfactory resolution or apology was provided. This was nowhere near the five-star experience we paid for or expected. We have also submitted a formal complaint to TUI regarding our stay. If required, TUI can verify our booking using references ********** and **********.

    The food was delicious on all restaurants and the service was excellent. The room was well decorated and have everything we needed including a decent hair dryer which is rare!
