We wanted accommodation and facilities that suited my husband who has mobility issues. In the main these were met, in particular the assistance at both airports. However, at the hotel, the swimming pool did not have suitable access so my husband couldn’t use it. Also the sunbeds available were far too low for my husband and there were only five sunbeds which were higher. We reserved on successfully for most days but on our final day hot3l pool staff informed us we could not reserve beds therefore we had no where to sit.
Show moreVery disappointing experience – certainly not a 5-star standard We’ve just returned from a 9-night stay as a family of three, including our 13-year-old. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience, and based on our stay, I would not recommend this hotel. On arrival, we were repeatedly offered room upgrades and “privileged” upgrades at an additional cost. While I appreciate that upgrades are an option, the approach felt more like an attempt to upsell us than to make us feel welcome. That said, I would like to thank the hotel for the bottle of Cava provided for our wedding anniversary — that was a lovely gesture and genuinely appreciated. Overall, this is one of those hotels you will either love or hate. Unfortunately, we hated it. Perhaps the Privilege package, adults-only areas or travelling out of season provide a much better experience, but the standard all-inclusive offering during our stay was overcrowded and, at times, clearly understaffed. Food & Buffet The buffet was, without question, one of the biggest disappointments. For a hotel marketed as 5-star, the food selection felt more like a 3-star establishment. The choice was extremely limited and the atmosphere often resembled a school or children’s canteen rather than a 5-star hotel restaurant. The layout was also poorly thought out. For breakfast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit were positioned right beside the children’s pancake station, making it extremely difficult to get to these items when the area was busy. Service was inconsistent and, at times, quite bizarre. We were told that certain waiters could be asked for drinks, while others were responsible for clearing tables. This made getting basic service unnecessarily difficult. On occasions, tables were simply wiped down with crumbs being brushed onto the floor, which is not what I would expect from a hotel of this standard. Room Unfortunately, the room was also below expectations. We had an issue with ants, which the hotel did not adequately resolve. Housekeeping was another major disappointment. During our stay, the room was not properly swept and the bins were not consistently emptied. Basic housekeeping standards should be a given, particularly at a hotel charging the prices this one does. Themed Restaurants The themed restaurants were equally disappointing. At the steakhouse, we were served undercooked chicken that was extremely **********, while other dishes arrived cold. Prawn crackers were left sitting on tables with flies around them, presumably for the next guests. What was particularly frustrating was the complete lack of response from staff. Nobody offered to replace meals, apologise or even ask what was wrong. In the end, we walked out, along with guests from several other tables who had also become dissatisfied. Sakura was even worse. The spring rolls were so greasy they were almost impossible to pick up, and the chicken was served stone cold. The food arrived suspiciously quickly, which gave the impression that it had been pre-cooked and simply reheated. Nobody asked how our meal was. When I tried to raise my concerns, my plate was simply taken away and I was handed the dessert menu. Eventually, we left. Pool & Bars The pool area was also in poor condition, with broken or missing tiles and mould visible in various areas. Some of the sun loungers and umbrellas were dirty and had mould on them. The beer from the poolside bar was poor, and the food available around the pool was, at best, average. The upstairs drinks were much better, and the coffee shop was probably one of the highlights of the stay. Entertainment The nightly entertainment was another weak point. We watched one of the singers and, honestly, the performance was extremely poor. I genuinely think the local Irish bar karaoke would have offered more talent. Overall I appreciate that reviews are subjective, and some people may think I am being overly critical. However, I spoke to a number of other families during our stay who expressed very similar opinions about the food, service, overcrowding and general standards. For the prices being charged and the hotel’s advertised star rating, I simply expected much more. We did not feel particularly welcome, and at times the hotel felt overcrowded, understaffed and poorly managed. This was our first experience with the H10 brand, and unfortunately it has left a very poor impression. I had always wanted to try some of the other H10 properties, including the adults-only and Tenerife hotels, but after this experience I will be thinking very carefully before booking with the chain or its sister properties again. For the money, there are far better options available. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel
Show moreThe food and accommodation was lovely . The bar service was awful ! Two staff who acted like they couldn’t see you ! 2 drinks in 2 hours , this was by 3 attempts of asking !
Show moreAmazing large hotel that from the outset looked amazing. However food quality was disappointing and the staff were not friendly. Felt a bit like we were an inconvenience being there.
Show moreGreat hotel. Food was fantastic and branded drinks! Room service was lacking. Bedsheets were not changed in 10day stay. And the floors not mopped. This did let the hotel down a bit. But on the whole the hotel was very good. Kids entertainment was ok. Evening entertainment practically non existent or on far too late.
