We booked two go here for a week which im happy to say is enough. Last year we went to the sister hotel in Mexico which I cannot fault it at all. 5* hotel and proved it massively. Due to this we decided to come to this hotel in Punta Cana. Hotel Room - average room. We got 2 double beds. A mini fridge stocked up each day and a clean room each day. However the room was very old, the ceiling on parts of the room had pealed off and the bathroom tiles were unclean and chipped. Id give the room itself a 3. Swimming pool/ beach - unfortunately due to the seaweed we were unable to swim at the beach but the hotel proved to try and clean this up as quick as they could However due to mother nature the seaweed kept arriving. The pool, 1 massively pool and 2 baby pools. Very clean and very deep in some parts. Apart from some area breaking off the pool had to faults. Was lovely. The swim up bar was good for a nice fresh drink However did get cramped on busy periods. Was quicker to go to another bar for a drink. There was also enough sunbeds to go around. I was gice this a 4.5. Staff- The entertainment staff were great I wouldn't fault them at all. I would definitely say there the happiest staff on site and made sue that everyone was welcome. I even saw a member of the entertainment staff on lunch break and they saw a lonely boy saying alone. He walked over spoke to him and instead of walking and eating with his colleagues he decides to sit with the boy and have lunch with him. Such a lovely gesture. Apart from the entertainment staff the rest of the staff in the hotel seemed moody, like they didn't want to be there and some were very rude. In my words dont wanna work there don't work there at all. Take it all on the chin visitors is all I say. You a customer and a tourist to make sure you get what you paid for and being nice and kind is free. Staff I would give 3 but entertainment staff a 5. Entertainment- again there was loads of entertainment to go around all and every day. Even was a foam party at the pool. 5* fot entertainment. Excursions- we went on a horse riding experience and went with tui to Saona island. Both trips were amazing. Would definitely say go on the Saona Island trip. Otherwise your regret it. We booked both these trips on the tui app before arriving, however you can booked trips online with tui between 8am- 4pm. Now down to the last one. FOOD - I dont want to be a Karen but the food was massively disappointing. Breakfast - you have 2 buffets. The main buffet which is open the longest was for breakfast terrible. Over crowded, unclean and the food was a hit and miss. It had a range of breakfast stuff which is fine, but it wasnt to the best standard. However if you walked over to the over flowed buffet across the corodoror it was much better and staff were nicer. The food was simular to the otherside, but it was cleaner and they always had what you wanted. Breakfast overall was a 3.5. Lunch - 3 areas to eat lunch. Aquarium park - be quick when lunch is near the buffet as they leave it there to dry up and don't replace it to fresh food. - 2* Buffet again - we didn't go to this at lunch so cant comment. Steak house/snack bar/bbq- Was great. There was a man each day cooking burgers and sausages fresh. Pizza bar and inside the steak house was a range of all sorts. Salad bar, chicken kebab for tacos, bbq wings, chips, pasta loads of food. Can't complain loads of food and lovely. 4.5* Dinner - Themed Restaurant At first its really hard to book these themed restaurants and when you go into the huts to book them, there rude domt want to be there and tell you straight no until you ask for them to look. Which then lucky for us we had 3 arranged. Italian - we walked in booked for 8.10 however didn't open till 8.20. We walked in got sat down to a table and told the starter buffet was on the side. It basically was a small part from the main buffet so very disappointed and we didn't know what was what food. No signs. You had to guess what the food was. Then they asked if we wanted water and a drink. Drink was fine however when I went to drinking my water is was full and I mean full of flies. The man definitely used the jug of water they left on the side all night until open again. No fresh water. I complained and the guy laughed and walked away to get me a fresh glass and water. Which I was put off then so didn't drink. Then it came down to the food. I ordered carbonara and my partner spag bowl. The food was lovely when we tasted it. We then asked if there was parmasean cheese. He went and came back with a bowl. We put some on our food and straight away couldn't eat it. The cheese tasted like soap. It was like they left it near the cleaning products and the products went into the cheese. Litrally couldn't eat anymore. We decided to walk out. American - this was out 2nd restaurant meal hoping it was good, even though we heard alot of family being very disappointed in it. We walked in got on our table and looked at the menu. Drinks arrived and a quick order for our food. OK going good so far. We ordered a starter and a main. 50 minutes later our mains arrived. Yep thats right our mains, no starter. Everyone else around us was arguing with the staff for unknown reasons. So we decided to just eat the mains. I ordered the bbq ribs and curly fries came with it. To be fair the ribs were lovely, the amount of food was rubbish but the food itself was ok.After this we asked the staff for our starters as we were still hungry and still waiting for our starters. Which she found weird. 5 minutes the starters arrived. I ordered the chicken hulk tenders. Wasn't really much chicken to it just crisp and the bbq sauce you get didn't turn up but at this time we were just done. We decided to not get dessert and the other families inside looked annoyed and staff were arguing. We left. I would give this a 3* Steak - was average. What was said on the menu wasnt given to you. Starter we dodnt get everythinf thay came with the combo and also for thr main it said roast potatoes and asparagus with a steak and you got 1 piece of broccoli. The dessert was the best part. Buffet restaurant - again its just a buffet some nicest were ok some nights were dreadful but my main pet hate is the not knowing. Some food have signs but most of them dont, its a guessing game and if you like that type of game good luck. I found anchovies hidden underneath my pork chops. Buffet is a 3 Overall this hotel is ok. The food is terrible, the staff need happy pills, but generally if you want a 4-5 star hotel look somewhere else. This says its 4* but its definitely 2.5 maybe 3 if there lucky.

Entertainment was very poor and considering that you are so remote and there is nowhere else to go this needs to be better
