If this was a “superior” room, I would hate to stay in a standard room. It was very small and very poorly designed. For example, the safe was too high for my wife to use, the doors to the balcony would not open completely because the bed side table was in the way, nowhere to store cases except under the desk (making the desk useless and forcing the chair out into the small room), kettle and coffee machine in a dark cupboard meaning you needed a torch to operate the coffee machine and who knows what the kettle steam is doing to the wood.

The hotel was in a beautiful location and the views from our balcony were amazing. The room was absolutely lovely - good size, nice and modern, excellent balcony, excellent bathroom (the shower was really good) and good facilities. The swimming pool was great with beautiful views. Breakfast was good. However, the housekeeping service was poor. Most days they did not service the room until after 5 pm...one day it was 7 pm. By that time we were back from a day out and did not necessarily want to leave to allow the room to be serviced. This meant that the room was not cleaned or serviced for a number of days in a row. One day, housekeeping took away a number of useful items such as coasters and slippers to allow us to go to the pool. There was no reason for them to dispose of these items and we had to request new slippers (which then took ages to be delivered). They also moved our clothes around, despite them having been left neatly in the room.

Fantastic however it wasn't clear that drinks weren't included despite being half board.
