Upon arrival our first room the patio door didn't open properly, and maintenance couldn't fix so we were moved, our new room did not have the correct number of glasses, cutlery or bowls so we had to request these. We then had issues with lights flickering and had to request these fixed. The kitchen cupboard doors were damaged (issues with the hinges). On day 7 our washing machine would not drain, so maintenance was again called, could not fix so we were asked to move again. They could not give us a room in the same building for the remaining duration of our holiday only for 3 days as the owners were coming to their apartment. We refused this room, so they moved us to the other building, I checked the apartment before we moved and there was a very damp smell and the kitchen floor was really damp, to the point of dangerous as we were slipping when we walked on it. Again, we had to go to reception, where the manager Mike told me it sounded like the wrong products were used to clean the room which I immediately disagreed with and advised the room was damp and smelled. They said they would send housekeeping as they had no other rooms available for the remaining duration of our holiday. The main bedroom door was also falling off the hinges and had to be slammed to close. In the end we cleaned the floors ourselves with disinfectant wipes as the housekeeping took so long to arrive. We unpacked our things again, One of our party then took a shower and the bathroom flooded. The water had come into the hall and the adjacent bedroom. My luggage in the cupboard in this room and was soaked and smelled really bad. Again, they sent maintenance to suck up the water and try to fix the issue. We were asked if we would stay in the room which I immediately refused. Clearly this was not the first time this apartment had flooded (hence the damp smell), but instead of admitting this they brushed us off and we were given another room. By this time over 4 hours had past and again we packed everything. Due to some of the luggage being completely soaked, we had to carry a lot of our things by hand. As you can imagine we were all shattered by this point and just couldn't take anymore. No assistance in moving was offered. I asked for another kettle for the new room and was instructed by Mike to use the keys from the second apartment as they didn't have many and could I just go and get it. WOW. I then phoned TUI UK , gave them details of the issues we were having, no call back was received the next day, so I phoned the Orlando office the next day when I got back to the apartment. Dan advised he had spoken to the hotel and that they offered $340 compensation and £100 from TUI. I declined this offer. Dan then advised that I should accept the offer as the UK office did nothing and it had only taken him 5 mins to get us compensation. Maybe if he took more time and us seriously the offer would have been more acceptable. To add to the issues. We had more lights malfunctioning. Our shower light was flashing for the last 4 days of our holiday. The drawers in the main bedroom would not stay closed, so were dangerous if you had to visit the bathroom in the dark as you could walk into them. We didn't report these issues as we had had enough of the \"disregard\" of the reception staff. I travel to Florida every year with my family and have done for the last 30 years and I have never experienced such bad accommodation and such poor service from TUI. When you walk into the hotel reception, it looks really good, but it is a different story when you get to the rooms. So tired and unmaintained and not as clean as they should be. Very disappointing to say the least. Our holiday was quite honestly ruined. We did not know what was next to go wrong with the room. (On the last day we found a dead cockroach in the second bathroom cupboard). If this had been found earlier, we would have demanded to move hotels. I really hope that this complaint is taken seriously and not just another 5 minute approach, as we paid a lot of money for our holiday and our expectations were very much one of disappointment and regret and like I said the stress and upheaval this took on our family and overall our main vacation was completely and utterly ruined.
Show more1st apartment in block 8 was very dirty and stunk of damp/mold, with most drawers broken/not working, broken lampshades, dirty kitchen and smelly bathrooms. 2nd apartment in block 1 was better, still very dated, but at least it was cleaner and had less broken items.
Show moreThe accommodation was everything we needed- it is a little dated abd could do with a revamp but we literally only really slept and showered there as we were out in the theme parks most of the time, or in the pool!
Show morethe decor is a bit dated but the location is great
Show moreEnsure that the security of the premises were really secure. Ours was not.
