    I have just returned from holiday and unfortunately I have to complain. I feel it’s the right thing to do as we paid a lot of money for our holiday and have come away very upset and disappointed. Many things (below) haven’t been good. Bedding: This was meant to be changed every 3 days and wasn’t changed once throughout our 10 day holiday. Room: We had cobwebs in the room. The shower was tiny. After you close the doors to the shower, you literally couldn’t move or bend down. It was about 70cm wide/deep/long! Air conditioning: The AC didn’t work correctly. It wasn’t cooling the room. WiFi It worked the majority of the time in the room but didn’t work around the pool area, restaurant or bar area. Restaurant: There is no serve yourself drinks machines at the hotel which is fine and good in theory but it made the experience very frustrating! On one of our first days, I helped myself at a drinks machine (thought that was what you do) and was told we aren’t allowed and a waiter/staff would sort us out. Again, good in theory. I can only assume they are short staffed. On 4 different days we had to wait over 20mins for staff to sort drinks for us. One of the days, after waiting 20mins for a drink at lunch, I asked one of the staff if we could have some drinks and I was ushered away back to my seat. That particular occasion we had finished our lunch by the time we were offered a drink! I found the restaurant staff very abrupt. Most days we were waiting 10-15min for a table at lunch or dinner. The food was often cold and not replenished. So we found that a lot of the time the food trays were empty. Every single time I went for food whether it was breakfast lunch or dinner, the cutlery, plates and glasses were dirty. The glasses and plates were filthy. You had to constantly look for a clean plate or glass which is unacceptable. Many other guests at the hotel commented on this too. You expect it to happen occasionally but not every single visit to the restaurant. When I mentioned the dirty glasses to one of the restaurant staff, she just said ‘I know’ as if it’s normal. Lastly, in the evenings the queues for drinks were often 20 people long meaning you’re waiting a long time for drinks, whether it’s soft drinks or alcoholic. This basically put us off having drinks. I accept this is probably down to staff but still a big downside to our holiday. Overall we are very disappointed with our stay and feel compensation or partial refund would be fair.

    Great for adults only with a nice restaurant up stairs. The spa is amazing and one of the highlights of our trip away celebrating 18 years of marriage. We already planning to book again at the same location. Welcoming staff also made the visit less intimidating to newbies to the island

    The hotel was ok the cleanliness wasn’t, rooms were not cleaned properly if not at all, pool areas were dirty never cleaned with sharp onjects in pool, cups were filthy, food wasn’t good, coffee machines were just hot milk no coffee at all.

    The holiday overall was good, however there was a distinct lack of staff at the hotel the first 3 days, tables weren't being cleared in the main restaurant quick enough so we were let into the restaurant only to try and find a clean table ourselves, which we couldn't find any... We had to find a member of staff to clear a table for us because there was nowhere to sit. The check in process wasn't great, we arrived at 10:30am and informed our room wouldn't be ready until 15:30pm, with two children under 6 this proved to be an ordeal, when our room was finally ready we were given the keys only to realise there had been a mix up. We unpacked and then a family turned up with access into our room via a card key which unlocked the door, I called reception and they informed that it had been a mix up and advised the other family to go to a different room. While these were teething issues it wasnt a good start to the week with a young family fresh off a four hour flight and transfer, it was hard work. The pool bar was also understaffed, so queues were long even to get soft drinks or juice, the pool bar/restaurant was also underwhelming and there were birds in the restaurant and bird feces was visible on the wooden beams. These first impressions did put a dampener on the holiday, however I don't think it was due to the staff who were on site they were just clearly stretched. However, there were a number of positives to the hotel, very clean, grounds were well kept, the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and sheets, our children loved the pools, we always found sun loungers, the entertainment team were excellent and made a real effort to engage with guests. The food in the restaurant was good and service improved towards the latter end of the week, if more staff were on site from day 1 I don't think we would have experience the negatives of the first two days.
