The overall site was far too big and, apart from one buggy driver, the buggies were often unavailable. The rooms were very dark and the lighting very poor. The hotel, I believe, is owned by Exotic Travel and their staff were everywhere trying to get holiday makers to buy what I could only describe as timeshare weeks. They thought nothing of approaching people when they were relaxing or even enjoying the pool and trying to sell. These workers made for a bad experience, I was with an Exotic member who had to have meetings with staff and when she asked for help with various administrative issues they were uninformed and unhelpful. I find it difficult to understand how the hotel has such a good * rating, as I’ve stayed in much better 3* hotels in the past. I’ve previously stayed in a TUI Blue hotel on 2 occasions, and in fact, am returning there in January. The El Dorado Casitas Royale is no where near as good as All this being said I enjoyed the holiday but would not recommend the hotel.

All pools had music blaring out all day, we had to go onto the small beach to avoid the noise. We knew about the potential seaweed issue on the beach but would have liked some beach based activities eg. Snorkling, kayaking, hobby cats.

The part of the resort we stayed in (El dorado casitas royale) was in quite a bad state of repair. We had to change rooms since the Nextdoor casita was undergoing extensive maintenance with very loud drilling and sawing the thatched roof and stairs were being replaced. This meant that we lost the first day of our holiday unpacking, repacking, moving, and unpacking again. It was a stressful start to our holiday.

Lovely resort but let themselves down as no explanation of the resort upon arrival, we did not receive our dedicated concierge as advertised, we were told it was a guy called Jacob but we never met him. Also very difficult to find location of activities as no signs, staff did not know and app was really poor.
