The hotel was incredible. Such wonderful, polite and happy staff. The hotel was spotless, breakfast was the best we’ve had at a hotel buffet. Only thing is the music played by the pool was a bit annoying!

We're do I start.......There was no information or food available wen checking into the hotel as we arrived after midnight. We went to our room to find it was down 9 steps with no handrail, and as I'm disabled struggled down steps with bags and cases. Woke up nxt morning ready to start our holiday and as I opened the curtains was greeted with the sight of the opposite block. I'd payed for a Superior Twin room with sea view and Terrace so I wasn't happy. My partner went down to reception and told them and they did apologise and sorted us out with a sea view room. We went down to breakfast and the food was disgusting, cold beans cold bacon and cold scrambled eggs. We were not told that we could order fried or poached eggs if we didn't like scrambled. I never went down for breakfast after that and my partner just had toast. We decided to go to the pool and there was loads of sunbeds which was nice but the steps down to the decking around the pool didn't have hand railsso I myself and quit afew other elderly people were struggling. There was no steps leading into the pool just a couple of rickety silver ladders which were no good for me. The decking around the pool was sticking up and I tripped on it. It was really in need of relaying a new floor. The food at the pool bar was OK....actually alot better than the food in the restaurant as it was cooked to order and hot. Staff at the pool bar were fantastic, helpful and friendly. Moving on to the evening meal in the restaurant..... it was disgusting. It was cold the meat was tough and the paella and rice was really burnt and stuck to bottom of pan you could only scrap the top off. All the cooked food was cold as it had been out for solong as there wasn't many people in the restaurant. I booked this hotel as I was recommended that if you want nice food you need to go to a Barcello. I'm sorry to say this is not the fact with the Barcello Portinatx . This hotel really needs checking out for accessibility for disabled people as there are loads of steps every were with no handrails. We saw at least 2 people on the 1st day we were there slip and fall down the steps from the pool area to the toilets. There was a constant snell of drains which at time made me feel sick. The smell was even coming up into our room threw the shower drain. The shower water leaked out into the room and into the toilet cubicle. Water leaked from the sink waste pipe onto the floor wen using the sink. We reported it but nothing was done about it. There was no seal around the toilet door and a half inch to an inch gap around the toile door which you could be seen threw while you were sat on the toilet. We had to check out of our room at mid day and we wernt leaving the hotel till 19 45 so I asked if we still got the use of the All-inclusive till we left as we didn't get any food on arrival to be told NO It ends on check out. I said I wasn't happy as it was part of our holiday (Days) to which the receptionist replied it's not our fault if you plane/transfer to holtel took to long and you arrived late as everthing shuts down at midnight. She then produced a bill for my partners drinks at the bar. I said we are All-inclusive so there shouldn't be a bill. She said it's for the Bicardi, I said he had Spanish Bicardi, she said you have to pay for it ....we were told at the bar that you didn't pay for Spanish just English but she wouldn't listen so I just said to my partner just pay the bill so we can go and chill out as the receptionist was not going to do anything about it and we may aswell talk to the desk. So I suggest you send some one to review this hotel before TUI recommend it to anybody else. We payed nearly £3000 for awk at this hotel and it was a total waste of money.

The hotel is lovely however there are insufficient umbrellas on the upper pool deck to project sunbathers from the constant sun. Also I slipped because the drop down to the only step was deeper than it should have been.

Tui misadvertised it as having a beachside dining area.
