    Recommended

    It was really quiet and not sure if this resulted in less food options and staff. For a 5* i would expect a waiter service at night to bring drinks to table when in lobby or at entertainment but this rarely happened.

    We have been going to the Gran Bahia Principe in Riviera Maya in Mexico for many years now and has changed drastically since The World of Hyatt have bought into the Gran Bahia Principe chain. Not being able to book into the alacarte restaurants as it is now first come first served and being told there is s 2 hour waiting time.Supposed to be all inclusive yet the bars were very poorly stocked with little alcohol and even having to pay for some beers. The entertainment was very limited at Sian Kaan maybe because there were not many guests staying at any of the hotels in the resort. Felt really sorry for the staff as they were the ones that were getting a hard time

    The rooms and the resort in general is dated and in need of an upgrade, especially when compared to the other resorts in the complex. The five star rating from TUI is not a fair representation of the hotel.

    Food at the buffet service was lacking. However the hotel staff were superb. Hotel entertainment staff made the experience so much better.

    All the staff, from reception and restaurant servers to housekeeping, grounds staff and senior managers, were extremely friendly. We were always greeted with a smile and a hello, which made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and very clean. Although the décor was not the most modern, there was plenty of storage and hanging space for our clothes. Room service was delivered quickly, and the trays were removed promptly once we had finished. The hotel also made our wedding anniversary feel special by decorating the bed with rose petals and towels folded into swans, which was a lovely touch. The food was excellent, and drinks were always readily available.
