Booked a 5* adult only all inclusive in Mexico for my honeymoon and felt severally let down from TUI and the hotel which I do not believe is advertised accurately at all. After staying in several TUI resorts, we have stayed at 4* resorts that are far superior to the Bahia Principe and we raised several complaints during our trip. Our room was damp, so much so that our clothes and bedding was damp and the hotel had to bring in a dehumidifier. (Hardly a 5* standard). The humidifier had the emptied every 18 hours or so to keep the room dry. This is ontop of using the air conditioning. The room was incredibly noisy with french sliding doors not joining properly to create a full seal. There was also construction/repairs being done on joining rooms starting at 9am for several days. We had daily cockroaches on the room which I have never experienced in any other hotel and during the rain the room leaked. The floor all by the bed was wet and on the first night this soeaked clothes and electrical items. The hotels solution to this complaint.. towels on the floor by the sliding doors. Again, not exactly giving us the 5* honeymoon experience that we paid for. We had other issues which have been noted. Including not being able to book restaurants as we were not told that booking opened 10 days prior to arrival. Which meant the majority of the restaurants were fully booked until 9/9.30pm. When we did go the restaurants they were always at least HALF empty so really have no idea why they say full. We were not able to book into the Steakhouse of Tequila for our entire stay which was very disappointing. The buffet for breakfast and evening meals is difficult to navigate, things are not signed correctly so you are not sure what is actually Infront of you. This makes choosing very limited as you only take what you are sure about. Other issues included the hotel not actioning requests for the room to be made for our honeymoon. And then when I paid for extra flowers etc agreed to be done by 4pm. The hotel were still arranging the flowers at 4.30pm when me and my wife came back - completely ruining the romance of the moment. The member of staff you had Melanie was absolutely lovely and tried her best to assist but there were limits to what she could do as the hotel simply is not up to the required standard. I would expect you to be recieving many complaints similar to mine. I want to request compensation for my holiday, as this experience genuinely ruined our honeymoon - a time we can never get bac. We trusted what we read about the hotel on your website, upgraded to a junior suite and in all honesty feel totally let down by TUI and the hotel. The TUI rep said that we could move rooms but that she was concerned it would be worse in other rooms - and the hotel fixes were not what we expected from our 5* holiday. There were issues all around the complex, with leaking rooms in lobby's and main theatre halls. Buckets and wet floor signs all over Akumal and Tulum resorts. It just feels run down and in dire need of investment. I cannot stress enough how let down I am about this as our honeymoon experience.

Rooms are very dated. Could not get booked into any speciality restaurants as they were either full or closed which was disappointing. The buffet restaurants in all 5 Bahía hotels was cold at every service, dreadful.

This is no longer a 5 star Luxury hotel. Maybe a good 3 star or average 4 star would be more like the rating. Since the partnership with Hyatt the ratings should be renewed and not using the old ratings/reviews.

Food warm at best under heaters in main restaurant /if picked from menu and cooked to order was hot .insects need getting under control as most guests badly bitten every day
