    Our room was dated. The hotel was certainly not child friendly. All the pools were deep. There was 1 pool with slides for the children but it was really exposed and only a few sunbeds. There was no playpark for the children...just 1 swing. The children's entertainment was in the outdoor amphitheatre which was accessed via about 50 steps in the dark and certainly not pushchair or wheelchair friendly as there was no other access.

    This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. We booked an upgraded room but on arrival we were very disappointed, the room was so far away from the main reception and buffet and had a shower over the bath which was not suitable for myself or my husband. We then had to pay another €200 to upgrade to a more suitable room. There are many pools around the accommodation but sunbeds pool furniture etc do not reflect that of a 5 star hotel.

    We had upgraded to a superior room, although it was better than others rooms (we were part of a family wedding trop with 98 guests attending the wedding at this venue) it was definitely not five star! No slippers provided, robe was damaged, no power socket within 12ft of a mirror for shaving doing hair. Shower room had inappropriate rails too high too small for two people, although the room could sleep 3! No USB sockets (we had left our stuff at home as this was supposed to be 5 star) reading lights next to bed were too low. We arrived late due to a flight slot being missed at Cardiff, heavy rain while waiting and when arriving at the hotel, all of my clothes were wet inside my main bag! We had sub rolls in fridge, wafer thin ham.and cheese with pretty dry bread in plastic wrap - quite awful, so we went in serch of the snacks at the pool bar - they only had more sub rolls, ham and cheese wrapped in plastic - so a major fail for what is billed as a 5 star! Room was tidy and a/c worked well, even managing to keep condensation down in the shower room, as long as we kept the door open - this would definitely have not worked if there were 3 in the room! Massive balcony which was a waste, even for 3 people. We were in 950's block, local large pool was lovely for swimming, although there was damage around the pool that required immediate attention (I was prevented from making local reports as a fear of upsetting the main wedding party) so no, we didn't report to hotel staff. The hotel is pretty large, but no sensible entertainment area? We sat on the terrace to watch some singers, but not even any lights on performers so we could hardly see their faces. Bars all closed at midnight, ans staff would appear with paper cups, and guests would have to either drink up immediately or pour their drinks into paper cups and the glasses were all removed!!! Restaurants, main buffet had good selection of foods, but drinks were only available via a waiter and tea/coffee was only available at breakfast? The beach bar when open for breakfast was far better as food was provided more freshly, less busy though. Staff were pleasant and worked mostly to please, although a lack of staff meant that waits for cleaned tables and ordering more drinks was a frequent experience. There was entertainment just off site in evenings, although very steep, definitely not child friendly and almost impossible if you had more than one child and a buggy! No refreshments available at this venue and the walk to and from was badly in need of repairs! For a party of 98 people spread across 14 days, some 2 weeks, some 10 days and some 7 days, we estimated that over £130,000 was spent with TUI - almost everyone in our party would not rate this hotel more than 3 star and nobody said they would visit again. We have frequented lower rated hotels and had far better service and facilities.
