Fabulous resort let down by the food

Whilst the accommodation was well maintained and clean, there were a lot of stray cats around the complex, scrounging for food. Several had eye infections, a few females were nursing kittens and were pregnant at the same time. All the males were entire, two only had three legs. For any animal lover this was an upsetting experience, and one that spoilt the holiday for my wife. Potentially no-one was going to be there to care for the cats over the winter period, which we found unacceptable. Action needs to be taken to resolve this situation. Being told there would be a charge of 50 euros if we wanted to keep our room longer than the usual checkout time was particularly galling, given that no further guests would be arriving due to the date. The man on reception said this was normal in all hotels. I disagree.

Our A/C broke and the reception staff were slightly rude when we first reported. They could not fix it but offered us a change of room, which we took the following day. The hotel is in a slight hill, and the room they moved us to was at the highest point, so quite a hilly walk from reception. This is not good if you have mobility issues, as my husband has, but for a few days it was ok. The rooms are a good size and bathroom facilities ( walk in showers) were great. The hotel is a little remote so not much going on outside the resort, unless you get transport to the town, but, we didn’t mind. My only complaint with the food / drink situation was the lack of a functional coffee machine in the restaurant. I like coffee at breakfast, but all 3 machines had issues. Juices are for all inclusive patrons only, not half board, so a drink at breakfast was not always possible, unless you want to pay extra for juice.

Room not as advertised and would say this is not a hotel to go to outside of peak with children as zero atmosphere and very remote
